1. install 20111022 build 2. turn on master password 3. install 20111122 Birch over XUL build with adb install -r 4. launch birch build Expected: no master password prompt Actual: master password prompt Note: HTC Flyer, Android 2.3
Whiteboard: migration
Since we have no UI, we should turn off Master Password. We can display a popup or dialog informing the user.

Changing summary to fit the task
Summary: Master Password dialog appears after going from XUL to Birch if Master Password was turned on in XUL → Reset preferences when updating from XUL to Native
The task is to reset all preferences back to the defaults. We don't know what add-ons have set and some features are not currently supported (master password). So resetting them all seems the safest way to go.
Just to update some info in this bug. Master Password would not work well if we reset it, so we implemented it. This bug can safely ignore dealing with master password. Some add-ons might change core preferences, but not be supported in Native Fennec (or just not re-installed). This could create a problem where some preferences are "stuck" in a state that is not intended, but there is no way to easily change it back. Bug 707708 was the original use case for this situation. The use-case was Phony, but Phony is actually supported by Native Fennec, so the user could re-install it. With Phony and Master Password taken care of, I don't think this bug is a P1 anymore. Resetting to P3.

This seems to have been caused by an increase in resizes/redraws that was fixed by work like bug 709492.

I don't know what prefs we want to reset anymore. If someone has an answer, we can reopen.
