Steps to reproduce:

I've opened several tabs.

Actual results:

I noticed that for the one of the tabs tab title is truncated: "и SMP - есть ..." instead of "Linux и SMP - есть ...".

Expected results:

Tab title should be "Linux и SMP - ...", not "и SMP - ...". See tooltip.

It is not the first time I reproduce such behaviour, and 12 is not the first version with such issue. But unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce it every time.

When I focus the tab, window title in window manager is correct, tooltip is correct, too. Only tab title is truncated.

I noticed that this behaviour is present if several neighbour tab titles contain the same part of text. In this example, three neihbour tab titles contain word "Linux". But I am not sure that my guess is correct.

OS: Arch Linux, 64 bit
Linux zhuravlik 3.1.7-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 4 08:11:16 CET 2012 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Firefox: 12.0a1 nightly (2011-12-30).

Yes, my guess was right - tab text is truncated if two neighbour tabs contain the same substring.

Can't reproduce this with the tab set you provided in comment 0. None of the tab names is truncated.

Can you reproduce this with a clean profile or in safe mode?

This is intentional and being worked on in bug 583890.
