Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:11.0a2) Gecko/20120106 Firefox/11.0a2 Iceweasel/11.0a2
Build ID: 20120106042007
Steps to reproduce:
Since when does one want to 'view image' in the same window?
What if 'view page source' dared to open the source in the same window?
At least provide 'view image in other window' (or tab) menu items!

Hmmm... lo and behold it does.
But how does this stand with 'Open link in new tab' 'Open link in new window' items.
The user is mislead with a non uniform interface...

You can use the middle-mouse button or modifier keys most places in Firefox where a page will be loaded. ie.
* middle-click to load in a new tab
* CTRL/Command (+ shift) + click to load in a new tab
* Shift-click for a new window.
See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Mouse%20shortcuts for more info.

0. Thanks. I only knew a few of them.
1. They ought to check that page with styles off:
Back AltOpt+Scroll DownShift+Scroll Down
Forward AltOpt+Scroll up Shift+Scroll up...
2. One hates when one middle clicks on javascript links. They do
nothing.
3. They ought to mention which ones are 'browser independent' (widely
implemented.)
4. Yes we can try middle clicking inside menus. Of course as with any
experiment, don't do it on a valuable half filled out HTML form...
