Using HP-UX N6.01 Beta build when Open|File and going up to the root directory will cause the browser to hang. And this is only happening for HP-UX 11i Server machine on "pesaro", whereas the same OS on a workstation works fine (ie. "assisi"). And let the hang sits for awhile the following message comes back: NFS server (pid590@/net) not responding still trying Steps to reproduce: 1) login to "pesaro" 2) cd /opt/netscape6 3) start browser 4) select Open|File 5) click on ".." button and go to the root (/) directory Result : the browser hangs

Currently this works for me, however Jimmy used to be able to reproduce consistently so i will leave open for tracking porpoises. Seems like a platform issue to me ( ie NFS on HPUX 11i server machines ). HP is seeking a kernel patch since they seem to know what is causing the problem.

Was able to duplicate this on "peasro" today with HP trunk build ID 2001041909, and found that this is a networking issue. The server was losing NIS connection to "nis1" so switch NIS to "salz" and reboot the system, and problem gone away. Marking as worksforma.
