this undesirable behavior appeared in this mornings builds (2001031821) on linux at least. whenever the mouse enters a mozilla frame, it does a raise. this includes dialogs and preferences screen (also when preferences are up and mouse leaves to another mozilla frame - it raises that frame over prefs dialog). mozilla can also be sent into infinite raise loops, for example by switching desktops with the mouse cursor in screen position that's a union of two mozilla frames (in gnome - sawfish window manager), or sometimes by closing a window then quickly moving the mouse to a different frame. generally speaking, trying to autoraise is hideous.
