I see the focus problem with all external applications like the OP, but in my case specifically MetroTwit Loop and FeedDemon 4.1. Regression window: being on the beta channel, I've seen this since 14.0 beta 6 (the first 14.0 release on the public beta channel), whereas previous beta's up to and including 13.0 worked fine.
