If you turn off Navigator in the Edit/Preferences menu, and click an e-mail link in another browser like ie, the Mozilla mail client comes up and a blank browser window too.

hi! i couldn't reproduce the problem you're seeing --could you pls provide more specific steps? also, are you able to reproduce this using a more recent [nightly] build? here is what i did --pls let me know if they are the same as your steps [i'm using a recent linux mozilla debug build from 1:30pm today]: 1. start the browser. 2. open the Preferences dialog [Edit > Preferences], and select the Appearance category. 3. unchecked the Navigator checkbox --now i no longer have *any* checkboxes selected in that panel. 4. save and dismiss Preferences dialog by clicking OK. 5. in the browser window, i click a mailto: link. results i see: a message compose window appears, but no additional blank browser window. [expected behavior] did you restart the app at some point, however? if so, when?

email from reporter [craig, feel free to post comments/observations directly here in the bug report. :) ] --- What we did... Our clients are NT 4.0 workstation. We tried to use Mozilla as the e-mail client, and ie5 as the browser, so the "Start Navigator" option is unchecked. In ie5, you click on an e-mail link, and Mozilla starts up with both e-mail and browser windows. Craig Anderson (I would like to use Mozilla for browser too... the 81 version has bugs I've run into displaying nested tables and forms which prevent that for now. I've not searched existing bugs thoroughly enough to be sure they are not duplicates yet.)
