IRC conversation for context: smaug timA: do we pass proxy settings from FF to webapps? timA smaug: I don't think we do smaug shouldn't we timA smaug: are proxy settings stored in profile data somewhere? timA smaug: yes, we should smaug I don't know where we store the settings smaug gavin might know jsmith timA, smang: What's the cost of not doing that (trying to figure out priority for bug tracking)? jsmith smaug* timA smaug: I recall some discussion about sharing some settings/data between App profiles and the Firefox profile that installed them timA smaug: proxy settings were explicitly mentioned timA smaug: but this was at a work week some months ago gavin proxy settings are prefs smaug jsmith: well, if someone is using proxy and have the right settings in FF, it would be possible to install the webapp, but probably not run it smaug so, that sounds like pretty important bug to fix

We've previously discussed sharing proxy settings rather than copying them, so webapps automatically get updates to Firefox's settings. I don't think we have any concrete idea how to do that, though.

Per bug 1238079, we're going to disable the desktop web runtime and remove it from the codebase, so we won't fix these bugs in the integration between Firefox and the runtime.
