There are problems with the popup appearing too often (see bug 725810), but it should be only once per hour. Do you allow the compation when it pops up? What is your server type (POP, or IMAP) and how many accounts do you have?

Yes, that one too, but 725810 may be quite related too and has a patch.

Very strange. Is this still happening? What does "working there" mean? Are you deleting messages? For this to happen, I think the timer logic would have to be all wrong, because we shouldn't be prompting you more than once an hour.
