Build: 2001041704, Mac OS 9.1 (also applies to Unix) To reproduce: * Install Mozilla. * Start re-installing Mozilla, and specify the same folder to install it in. * Click `Continue', and read the alert. In addition to the main question (in the large system font), the alert should contain an additional paragraph (in the small system font). This paragraph should read: | | This will delete any extra plugins and themes in your old installation. If | you do not want to do this, you should install Mozilla in a different folder.

Can we change teh install to optionally leave the previous installed plugins in place. Only replace the dummy one.
This looks like it's only for mac and linux, not windows because the installer for windows does not warn about the previous installation, nor does it delete any plugins from previous installation. over to syd for appropriate reassignment.

linux installer says (in part): > The selected directory already contains a Mozilla installation. To delete %s > completely, please press the 'Delete Directory' button. plugins/themes are not mentioned explicitly, but "delete %s completely" is pretty inclusive. Is this bug still needed?
