People
(Reporter: paulus.benedictus, Unassigned)
Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1
Build ID: 20120614114901
Steps to reproduce:
Access "localhost" and have the server-side shut the connection unexpectedly. You want to trigger "The Connection Was Reset" message.
Actual results:
URL bar changes unexpectedly (and wrongly)
Before reset:
http://localhost:8080
After reset:
http://www.localhost.com:8080
Expected results:
URL shouldn't have changed. I think Firefox should treat "localhost" as special and not go ahead and try to resolve it to a .com domain when things go wrong. This makes debugging a webapp incredibly annoying.
Dupe of Bug 150025.
