Feedback from Kevin in my blog: "I’d strongly encourage a first-launch help screen that highlights the reader feature so it gets the widest exposure possible, especially with, um, less adventuresome users. If you’ve ever watched someone from the over-60 crowd using, say, an iPad, you realize that certain folks will never click or tap strange icons if they don’t know what they’re for. Case in point: the purple “Reader” button in Mobile Safari." I agree we need a way to make the feature more obvious/easier to discover.
Summary: Reader Mode: Provide → Reader Mode: Provide first-launch help
Blocks: reader
To illustrate what is meant by the above comment, I've added some screen caps of the "first-launch" help screens of several popular iOS apps to the Mozilla wiki: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Fennec/NativeUI/UserExperience/ReaderMode#Discoverability I'm sorry I don't have the quite the breadth of experience with Android devices to find similar examples for Android. But I figure, as far as UX design goes, what's good is good, no matter the platform.
Component: General → Reader Mode
Priority: -- → P3
This should probably be covered by bug 769683.
Depends on: 769683
Blocks: onboarding
No longer depends on: 769683
Can I close this, Margaret (in my effort to clean up onboarding)?

Duping this to the reader mode contextual hint bug - we want to do exactly this! The intro is not the place to teach users this, we want to make it contextual.
