Changing the summary as this is not happening with current page move implementation, but with page moves from the past were we lost parts of the revision history as described above.

I suspect this is more work than it would end up being worth (and I'm not even sure we could actually build a catalog of all pages that moved prior to the page-move rewrite, so it may actually be impossible). Leaning toward wontfix unless we have a critical enough need for it to justify the work it would entail.

Guessing from lack of response to comment 3 that this is not actually critical -- going to bounce this.

Given this has legal implications, we need a validation of that decision from Ali.

I'm fine with leaving this as a won't fix.

FWIW, in the case of a legal audit, we can follow the same process :fscholz used to track the history back thru the system. And if we really need to, we can re-open this at that time to make the UI for it easier.
