IE5 supports something like this and it is helpful. To reproduce Type a URL that will have a bunch of matches. For example, bugzilla.mozilla.org. :-) The autocomplete list will appear. Notice that you can't resize it.

Adding hewitt to the cc because this is his baby. I think it's quite unlikely we're going to be able to make the window resizable anytime soon, unless hyatt has done some amazing work with popups that I'm not aware of.

Actually, Ben has bindings for resizable popups written and checked in. You should be able to use them to make the widget resizable.
