Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/21.0.1180.83 Safari/537.1 Steps to reproduce: Deselected 'Load images automatically'. On Windows this can be done by going to Tools->Options->Content. Actual results: On certain sites Firefox took longer to load. Go to : http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/bollywood/news-interviews/Kajol-has-always-been-lucky-for-me-Karan-Johar/articleshow/16129901.cms (not sure if this page will be up there forever). Then click on 'Student of the Year' link, and it takes a very long time to load. The same problem can be found on other links, but I don't have them handy. Please surf on the Internet with the option disabled, and you'll see the perf bad in some cases. Expected results: It should have loaded faster, as Firefox isn't downloading images.
Actually Firefox hangs and has to be killed from Task Manager.
See Bug 588742 for a similar reported Case (and that there won't be a immediate Solution). I presume some Script the Site uses is not designed for the "Loading of Images" Option turned off and makes Firefox behave abnormal.
WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0 The page is loading in seconds and it's the same with other sites.
XtCU4aLL got it right, the cause is the same as bug 588742. This can be marked as dup. Vlad, the problem only happens on certain sites, and more info is available on the other bug.
