User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0
Build ID: 20121002042010
Steps to reproduce:
I have a large IMAP account with many folders. Offline sync is enabled, and gloda as well.
Actual results:
Occassionally, Thunderbirds starts re-downloading entire folders, which creates much CPU usage and I/O.
Expected results:
Thunderbird should not re-download messages that have not changed.

It is not really reproducible :-/ I think I saw it again for one folder, but not again since then.
But apparently there is more success on tracking this down in bug 806760. I'll follow the discussion there, maybe I can help with some diagnostics ...

Just saw it again on 19.0a2 (2013-01-06) on Linux 64bit.
Suddenly, all my folders had disappeared, and then TB redownloaded the folder list and the folders reappeared one after another. After that, TB started to redownload messages.
This happened shortly after my computer had woken up from hibernate, so broken IMAP connections might be involved.

Hi Jens. Time for 3 year checkup :)
Do you still see this when using version 38? Or version 45 beta from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/ ?

Forgot to ask ... If you do still see this, is your thunderbird profile and mail accounts on the local disk?

I haven't actually seen it in quite a while (using TB 38 on this computer here).
I always used profiles on the local disk.
