Spin off of bug 794109. As Jake pointed in bug 794109 comment 51, we could offer two download buttons. One for the stub, one for the full installer.
What names do we want to use for the download buttons, "Windows Stub" "Windows Full"?
Assignee: nobody → mkelly
I don't think users will know what Windows Stub means. I think it should be "Windows" (for the stub) and "Windows (Full)" (for the full installer).
1) I'm happy that we are providing two download buttons; even from our quiet very quick test over the weekend, there was clear demand for our "all-in-one traditional" installer, for users with poor-connectivity downloading installers to USB sticks. 2) <bikeshed> I am concerned that labelling one button "full" will imply the other button is somehow an partial/incomplete-firefox-installer. While I managed to come up with ideas that avoided the word "full", I couldnt think of anything that works for both buttons. UX is hard - best of luck! In a (failed) attempt to avoid bikeshedding, I'll now go make coffee instead. </bikeshed>
Instead of (Full), I suggest (Classic).
Per discussion with cmore on IRC, we'll go with "Windows" for the stub and "Windows (Classic)" for the full installer for now. If consensus changes, we can always make the change quickly or I can update the pull request (since nightly.m.o is en-US only these changes can be done very quickly).

Will mark as verified after this is deployed and out on production.
tofumatt made the good point that "Windows Classic" could be misunderstood as referring to Windows 3.1 or 95 or whatever. Reopening and apologizing for jumping the gun.

(In reply to Michael Kelly [:mkelly] from comment #8) > tofumatt made the good point that "Windows Classic" could be misunderstood > as referring to Windows 3.1 or 95 or whatever. Reopening and apologizing for > jumping the gun. qa-verified locally. We need to agree on the new name for "Windows Classic" then we will be all set to push to production
"Windows" "Windows (Full Download)"
I think the marketing team owns this call (both whether to provide one and what it should be named). Cc'ng Laura Forrest.
(In reply to Johnathan Nightingale [:johnath] from comment #12) > I think the marketing team owns this call (both whether to provide one and > what it should be named). Cc'ng Laura Forrest. It's fine for now to provide two buttons for the small group of more technical Nightly candidates (way different story for GA). Naming Suggestion: 1. Express (our new Stub installer) 2. Standard (our existing installer) second choice 'Classic' -- John J of the Strategy team does not think this will confuse due to age of 'Classic Windows' builds mentioned above I'm in a workshop the rest of the day, I encourage us to get a "good enough" name and not to be blocked on marketing.
Marking as resolved, this has hit production.
