I just got an email about my app being escalated to admin review and the footer says:
> Manage email notifications: https://marketplace.mozilla.org/settings#notifications
The link loads the settings page, but there aren't any options to change notifications there.
Maria: is there something specific you want to do with this or should we build a checklist like we have on AMO? (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/users/edit) Assigning to you for now but please assign to nobody@ once you reply (and clear the uiwanted keyword). Thanks.

So, this is for developers only yah? I can see how developers might want notifications for things like when someone reviews their app etc. A checklist sounds reasonable for that. In that case I'll ask Bram to take a look.
If you are thinking about end-users I'd want to think more about and talk to product about what we functionality the profile page should have.
Once I understand what you're thinking I'll cc / take whatever actions needed.

Anyone with a user account has the checkboxes on AMO. I can see a scenario where marketing wanted to email people with accounts regardless of developer status so I'd consider it for anyone with an account (could have less options). But sure, asking product is fine too.

This is kind of a big deal. We tell users they can unsubscribe but they can't. I had added the Notifications section way back but it was removed per the mobile/desktop design makeover (bug 784815).
Can we please get a resolution here?

I'm surprised we haven't gotten into trouble with privacy about not having working unsubscribe links...

Removed "Unsubscribe" section and links for now, until we have the ability to actually unsubscribe:
https://github.com/mozilla/zamboni/commit/d2b3e1e
A few questions...
* How soon can the "unsubscribe" links be fixed and working properly?
* What options does a developer have if they do want to unsubscribe and there is no link?
* Do we know how many people have tried to unsubscribe and have been unsuccessful (e.g., what is the impact of this links not working)?

The developer is unable to unsubscribe at this point. Thus far they wouldn't have been able to anyway though, as we don't allow unsubscribing from the notifications we've been sending out ("your app has been rejected" etc).
Bug 909519 is the first non-essential mail going out which is why it's such a slow process. I can't tell you when this will be fixed, as it's a UX bug at this point. If you think it's important I can up the priority for the UX team.

This bug was filed because 'manage notifications' link wasn't working on the emails to developers. cvan added the notification section, but then it was removed (comment 3). What is the status of the notifications section now?
Aside from unsubscribing to notifications like 'your app has been rejected' (I agree they shouldn't be able to unsubscribe from this particular one), what are the other types of notifications could developers unsubscribe from? Is there copy somewhere that still says that developers can unsubscribe, or has that been removed entirely?
As this bug has been open for almost a year and hasn't been resolved, we should flag this to be fixed sooner than later. Adding Maria.

I agree 100%. Maria was on this thread already. Adding Tony, UX designer.

Liu has picked this bug up and started working on it. Just assigning it to him in-case anyone needs a UX point of contact for it.

The only optional notifications I know of in the marketplace will be handled by exact target (bug 912697). Until there is actually a need to have more lists for the marketplace I don't think there is anything to do in this bug. Reopen if I'm missing something.
