Per conversations with xstevens and others, I'd like a specification for the Metrics Data Ping HTTP API. This should include all relevant URI endpoints, HTTP status codes, and retry/backoff behavior. The specification should live somewhere public. I'd prefer it not live in a wiki because I don't think specifications should be easily edited. I think inside a source repository (possibly the Bagheera one) is fine. See http://docs.services.mozilla.com/storage/apis-2.0.html for inspiration.
