Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0
Build ID: 20121025212310
Steps to reproduce:
I have been using HTTP Pipelining in Firefox on and off for years without any issue.
Actual results:
Firefox does not enable HTTP Pipelining by default
Expected results:
Firefox is a world class browser and like B2G, Safari, iOS's Browser, Androids Browser, Chrome, Chromium and Opera it should enable HTTP Pipelining by default.
http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html
HTTP Pipelining is not a new standard and has proven itself in testing and Firefox users could benefit from Pipelining if it were enabled.... Clearly its not a flip of the switch enablement because there will need to be a fallback for any issues encountered but at the same time pipelining not being the default seems like a mistake.
