Build: 2001051504, Mac OS 9.1 To reproduce: * Install Mozilla. * Get rid of your old `Mozilla' folder -- so that you have one 4.x profile lying around, but no old Seamonkey profiles. * Run Mozilla. What you see: An embarrassingly ugly dialog, which * has window chrome (close box, minimize box, piping border) instead of dialog chrome (no close box, no minimize box, no border); * has icon and text implying that the user has no choice about migrating; their profile, when actually they do; * has no padding around the outside of the content; * is ridiculously wide; * interferes with the user's desire to get Mozilla up and running as quickly as possible. This is especially embarrassing since it is the first chrome many Mozilla users see on running the program. What you should see: * No dialog at all. I propose that on first running Mozilla, users with any existing profiles -- no matter whether they are 4.x or Seamonkey profiles -- should get taken directly to the Profile Manager (where they can migrate their profile anyway). If not, however, this should become a tracking bug for bugs to clean up this dialog.
