thx to smfr for pointing this out on his mac debug build --unable to repro on verif bits due to bug 81271. to observe: 1. in the Preferences dialog, go to Privacy and Security > Validation. 2. select the radiobutton for "Use OCSP to validate all certificates using the URL and signer specified here" 3. drop down the menulist. results [as seen with the modern theme]: * menulist takes a while [few seconds] to build, in the meantime you get a big blank menulist. * once built, the menulist is huge: its width and height goes beyond the bounds of the preferences dialog. * the box outlines in the panel itself appear clipped on the right side. smfr, could you attach a screenshot?

The box is only clipped after you select an entry which doesn't fit. The initial popup is wide, but only as wide as the longest entry (see the bottom entries). Do all the entries have to have "builtin object token" prepended to them? I'll attach a screenshot.

have linux debug with psm2 (built on the first try, whee! :), and will attach screenshot soon...

interesting observation: in modern the content within the panel is clipped off on the right side. however, in classic the panel content wraps neatly [no clipping on the right side, even tho' the menulist is still big]. maybe the string "Builtin Object Token" could be removed from the menulist items? this would help narrow the menulist a bit. not sure if/how the names could be more abbreviated [and still convey meaning], to further narrow down the menulist...

cc'ing hewitt to see if he'd have additional info as to why there's wrapping in classic, but modern. just curious.
