See bug 778093 comment #130. We had drawn some Gonk specific code into several RIL DOM entries' implementation, such as ICC/Telephony/Voicemail/CellBroadcast/STK and BluetoothRilListener. This makes it impossible to port these RIL features to other potential platforms like Android. Of course We have better alternatives like IPDL, which is already in use and functions well in SMS.

This bug is for keeping track of deprecating RILContehtHelper in all mentioned RIL parts.

Bug 843452 is committed for 2.1 release. Other than that, I am afraid our team doesn't have enough bandwidth for the late requests in 2.1 right now. Let me mark this as [priority] for now so we won't miss this when we have resources.

Note:
When bug 864489 is fixed, to ensure backward-compatibility after freezing RIL related interfaces, 
RILContentHelper won't be removed until the maintenance period is expired.
(That is, if bug 864489 is fixed in v2.3, RILContentHelper will be removed in v2.4.)
