User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9) Gecko/20010505
BuildID: 2001050515
There is an intro flash movie on this web site. I can hear the sound, but can't
see the movie. (I can see it fine in IE)
In addition, I can not find any place once the page where I can right-click and
get the flash plugin's menu.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the above URL
Actual Results: Blank black screen with spooky sounds.
Expected Results: Should have shown an accompanying flash animation.
Flash does appear to work fine on other sites which use it.
(with the exception of shockwave.com, which refuses to allow mozilla users in
at all for some reason)
I've seen these symptoms before, but the URL here seems to work OK now...

OK- just to confirm, it is still reproducibly doing this for me. Let me know if
there is any other information I can provide to assist.

all i can say is pls try a newer build and latet version of flash player.
Working fine for me on 0517 trunk on windows. Thx!
The same site was one that used to display "ridiculously wide" (bug 72427)
I saw that too on various flash sites, but reloading always "snapped" the
content into place.
When you see this bug: Is the horizontal scrollbar triggered? Does it indicate
that the page is very wide?
I wonder if your cache can have the erronous layout of the page/flash stored.
If a reload helps, and you are using a build from after 20010502: Please delete
cache, quit and restart mozilla, and then try loading the site again.
Please report back whether that cured it and it now displays OK on first load.

Yes- the horizontal scrollbar does indicate that the page is insanely wide. I
tried scrolling across, but nothing is shown.
I tried clearing the cache (using the buttons under preferences > advanced >
cache), but no change.
Hmm.
1: Which build ID are you testing with now?
2: How do you delete cache?
Just to be sure, can you confirm that the cache dir (called NewCache i believe)
is empty when you restart mozilla, and that no previous instance of mozilla is
running in the background when you restart)
3: When you load the page, let it all load, and then *reload*, do you see the
content then?
4: Which flash version are you using? (write "about:plugins" in url field.)
This bug is a dup of bug 72427, which again was dup'ed against bug 5522, and as
far as i can see, it's really fixed. I used to see the same bug at the
harrypotter site with a current CVS build the bug is gone.

OK- this time I just deleted all the files in there and restarted. No change
though.

No.

OK- I'm using 0.9 here at the moment- if it's fixed already, that's cool.
Since you still see the problem, and the fix made it into 0.9:
Marking dup of bug 72427, requesting further testing.
