I somehow got my phone into a state where clicking on the Firefox browser icon opens the Settings app. Restarting the phone has fixed the issue but it's troubling that I was able to get the phone into this state. I have attached a logcat. Here is a video showing the issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9ScsVgc0xs I also tried launching another app (contacts) and then clicking on the Firefox browser icon. In this case, the contacts app opened correctly. Clicking on the Firefox browser icon continued to open the Settings app. May be related to bug 822721.

I'm using Unagi build 20121226070202.

I think it's the same root cause issue as bug 822721. I've seen this same style of issue with all kinds of Gaia apps on the phone.

From the comments in bug 822721, I think it's possible that this is a dup but I'm not convinced at this. Comments like "the tap just goes through to whatever is positioned on the background." make me suspicious as I don't know how a click target for the settings app can end up behind the Firefox icon.

This seems like a Gaia issue. (I was tempted to mark this as a blocker but I'm not that kind of person ;)

Please reaopen if reproducible on recent build.

Lawrence, looking at the video, it looks like the Firefox Settings. It does not look like a bug.

Naoki is correct about this being the Firefox settings. This issue definitely does not block basecamp. I'm going to morph this bug and assert that the browser settings should be dismissed/closed and the primary Firefox browser view should be displayed after clicking the home button and then reopening the browser. This is inline with the expectations set on Firefox for Android.

Comment on attachment 698039 [details] Logcat when clicking on Firefox browser icon and having the Settings app open Marking logcat as obsolete as it doesn't provide useful information for this bug.

I feel this bug is invalid. All apps behave this way, when you switch back to an app you're taken to the same place as when you left it. Without this, multitasking would be very difficult! Please re-open if UX input indicates otherwise.
