From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9+) Gecko/20010525 BuildID: 2001052504 and the previous builds as well. This happends to me nearly all the time. I open Mozilla, use it for a while, then close it and when opening Task Manager in Win2000, I can clearly see that Mozilla.exe is still loaded and is eating about 35 MB's of memory, even though the program is actually closed. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a few windows of the Mozilla browser. 2. Browse the web for a while. 3. Close the browser. 4. Go to Win2000's Task Manager. Actual Results: Mozilla.exe is still loaded in memory and eats about 35 MB's of RAM. Expected Results: Mozilla.exe shouldn't be in memory after the browser is completely closed.
I also see this with build 2001052204, Windows 95.
reporter: Can you try it with a new profile ? (WFM with win2k build 20010525.. (CVS) )
Will do today.
Yes, removing Mozilla AND the profile and installing Mozilla with a new profile from scratch solved the problem. Works fine now.
This bug could happen when user quits mozilla by just hitting the X button, and there are hidden windows left (like in bug 82159)

More people have reported this, and there is a bug at least on linux and Mac where links that open in new windows don't show. These remain "hidden" windows throughout the session. If user closes the last *visible* window, for instance with X button, Mozilla is still not terminated. This bug may be related.
I have the same problem with build 2001071303, windows 95C
Hello This bug may be related with Mozilla's new "turbo" property. There is a check box at new Mozilla install packets for Mozilla loaded and wait in memory while system is opening for fast loading when Mozilla called. When I wrote a duplicate for this bug I dont know turbo property of Mozilla. Now Mozilla is puting a Mozilla icon to sytem try, when you want to free memory you can close it with this icon (Windows 2000 prof - 2001071104.) Note : if my english bad and I spoke erratic excuse me, I tried to explain case that I understood. Note 2 : I couldnt write this bug with 20010711 because I was warned by bugzilla system :)
yes, this is certainly a description of QuickLaunch, aka turbo mode, not a defect, resolving as invalid. You might want to comment in bug 98673, Turbo mode memory usage.
