Currently on snap view, the back button and refresh icon is taking too much valuable space, which prevents the users taking advantage of auto-complete screen.
This video sketch is made to demonstrate a better transition from main app bar to auto-complete search bar.
When the users:
tap on the URL field(not release)
- The stroke of URL field turns to orange
release on the URL field
- the back button slide out from the left side
- the URL field and texts move slightly to the left
- the refresh icon disappears, and a "go" icon appears inside the search field
- a "Close" metro style icon slides in from the right
The interaction flows should be reversible when the users hit "Close".
I'm looking into how to integrate this approach with the full view app bar.
