The Camera API documentation references this object, which is not yet documented. We should take care of that relatively soon, as this impacts B2G and mobile especially, both of which are high priority documentation areas.

I'm happy to contribute to this, but the real expert on MediaStreams is the man who wrote them: roc.

Then I've already scored a victory by finding out the right person to talk to. I've added MediaStreams with roc's name next to it to our table of subject-matter experts on MDN. :)
MediaStreams are a standard thing. The spec is here: http://dev.w3.org/2011/webrtc/editor/getusermedia.html although we don't implement all of that yet.

There is already a documentation draft here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/WebRTC/MediaStream_API
But it's not the formal documentation for the MediaStream interface that should live under /en-US/docs/DOM/MediaStream
