The PDF.js bundled with Firefox 19 renders the linked PDF incorrectly. Two errors are visible on the first page: there is a pilcrow (¶) on top of the E in "ROCH GUERIN" (this letter is actually supposed to have an acute accent, ROCH GUÉRIN), and in three different places the word "finite" is being rendered as "‾nite" instead of "finite" (with a ligatured fi). If you read on, it becomes apparent that all ligatures have been replaced by random symbols (ffi, ff, ffl) and the math on page 4 and beyond is quite seriously mangled.
evince 3.4.0 (poppler 0.18.4) renders the document correctly.
