Overview: When disconnecting my internet connection, the download error pop-up doesn't display.
Build ID: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
OS: Windows 7 x64
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Firefox and download the large file (such as Ubuntu CD installer)

2. Disconnect the internet connection (http://prntscr.com/txf6f)
Actual Results:
No download error pop-up occurs.

which download error popup are you expecting? could you provide a screenshot or description of it?
What I'm expecting is that the download just fails and is marked as such in the panel and the download button state changes from downloading to idle.

Indeed, if the connection is Wi-Fi and is disconnected (right click on the Wi-Fi connection icon -> right click on the Network -> select Disconnect ) - the pop-up error is not displayed unless the download is paused. You are not noticed that the download failed until you pause it or have any other interaction with it.
If connection is still Wi-Fi but the disconnection is made from: Control Panel -> Network and Sharing ->Change adapter settings -> right click on Wireless Network Connection -> Disable -> the downloads error pop-up is displayed right away.

I believe this is the error popup the that Jonah is referring to.

Thanks Simona. Yes, I was expecting an error like that. This time I disconnected the Wi-Fi from Control Panel and the download error popped up. I also saw that the download button state changed from "downloading" to "idle" and when opening the downloads panel, the download was marked as failed.
