All City names are listed one time inside the drop down for cities in Date & Time

example: Calcutta and Kolkata

Calcutta and Kolkata are the same city.

Repro Steps:
1) Turn device on for first time user(Can also access first time user from settings/Device information/More info/Developer)
2) Click on Buttons until you get to Date & Time
3) Select first drop down menu and select Asia
4) Select Second drop down menu
5) View whats listed

Expected:
All Countries and Cities are listed one time

Actual:
Calcutta and Kolkata are the same city inside West Bengal, South Asia  

Notes: Duplicate entry of same city with different names

Faeroe and Faroe
Ulaanbaatar and Ulan Bator
Makassar and Ujung Pandang
Macao and Macau also duplicate names

Also, 
Kathmandu and Katmandu
Calcutta and Kolkata
Thimbu and Thimphu are listed on the Region and City drop down.

Since not every developer has enough knowledge about city names. 
Can you help us to specific which are the preferred one?

You can add a star before the duplicate pair to indicate its the preferred name

ex: *Kathmandu and Katmandu

means Kathmandu is the preferred name and should be stay in time zone list.

Official names have a * before name.
Calcutta and *Kolkata
*Dhaka and Dacca
Asmera and *Asmara
*Chuuk Lagoon (Lagoon is missing from official name on device) and Truk
Faeroe and *Faroe Islands (Islands is missing from official name on device)
Ulaanbaatar and *Ulan Bator
*Makassar and Ujung Pandang
Macao and *Macau
*Kathmandu and Katmandu
Thimbu and *Thimphu
