i surfed to http://www.fh-furtwangen.de and mozilla asked me to install the java-plugin. i downloaded and installed the plugin and restarted the mozilla client. then i got back to the url but again mozilla asked me to install the plugin what i've already done. cheers, saxofun
the linux version got the same problem (suse linux 7.1).
See bug 66840. Or bug 78150. You may need to copy the NP*.dlls to the Plugin directory. I have no idea what to do on linux.

Verified, this is a dup of bug 84463: "Going to any website that has Java content (...) Click here to install the plugin (...) Mozilla says that the installation was successful (...) going back to the website (...) returns it to 'Click here to install'; restarting Mozilla doesn't fix this (...)"
