2. it says "1 update available / Tap for more info"
3. tap it
4. it says "1 update available / HERE Maps (√)" with buttons below [Later] [Download]

Works for me on 4/5 build when testing over a data connection in Mt View office.
Can I get the following info:
1. What build ID are you running?
2. What type of network are you connecting to? Wifi or Data? How strong is in the connection typically?
We've have a couple of open bugs that we run into some trouble with lame network connections, so that might be what you are hitting here. Or it's an old build with some app update issue.

1. Boot2Gecko 1.1.0.0-prerelease
2. Wi-Fi / Connected to Mozilla Guest [here @MozSF]
network connection is fine in general - browsing the web is snappy.

Ah. Let me a bit more specific about the build ID question:
Settings --> Device Information --> More Information --> Build Identifier
What does the above value say for "Build Identifier?"

Build Identifier: 20130403070204
It worked for me just fine using SFO wifi Mozilla Guest. I am on 4/5 build.

Hmm...my guess is you are running a dogfood build and that's the latest build out right now.
At this point, I'd probably have to look at the phone directly if you are still able to reproduce.

Yes, still able to reproduce. I can wait and see if the next system update fixes it or not.

Hmm...I got one other idea here. Could you attach a logcat? That might tell us what app error is firing.

I updated the device today and am no longer seeing this error. Please feel free to resolve "apparently fixed" or the closest equivalent status. Thanks.
