It's only after i right-click and "save link as" am i able to download the binary files, it's getting on my nerves esp when it slip my mind and i have to click back to redo the whole download process. It wasn't like that in mozilla0.8(version i was using previously). Hopefully this is an over-look on your programmers part and not a bug. I can't reproduce this with build 2001-06-15-21 on Linux. I get a downloading dialog for application/octet-stream.

Possibly some plugin or association with an unzip/etc program?
