STR: 0. Make sure that Fennec is not running 1. Open Fennec and view mozilla.org 2. Go to the homescreen 3. Click on a link in the Twitter (or other app) to open a link in Fennec Expected: * mozilla.org should not be shown in location bar when Fennec is launched * the new URL is shown in the location bar Actual: * mozilla.org is shown in the location bar, and the title of the mozilla.org page is eventually shown * a second or two later, the requested URL begins to load * sometimes this shows about:blank before the requested URL, but it is basically the same experience but that about:blank loads faster This was seen on Firefox for Android 05-02 on ICS with HTC Sensation 4G.
OS: Gonk (Firefox OS) → Android
I don't see this at all on my Nexus 4 (Android 4.2.2), Nightly 05/04. I clicked on a t.co link on Twitter, and that was the first URL I saw when Nightly came in the foreground over from Twitter.
Attached video Video of bug (deleted) —
This video shows the about:blank being shown when the URL is loaded. Apologies for the video coming in as sideways, I'm not sure why B2G did that.
This sounds a lot like bug 866757. Jared, do you think it's a dupe? It sounds like the issue here is that we're restoring the previous session before we're handling the new URL.
Yes, this sounds exactly like bug 866757. I'm not sure which one you would like to close. Margaret, can you make that call?

I'm not sure that this is a regression, I feel like this has happened for a while, although Brian may have tried to fix it at one point. (In reply to Aaron Train [:aaronmt] from comment #1) > I don't see this at all on my Nexus 4 (Android 4.2.2), Nightly 05/04. I > clicked on a t.co link on Twitter, and that was the first URL I saw when > Nightly came in the foreground over from Twitter. Was Nightly running when you clicked the link? I think Nightly needs to be OOM killed to see this problem.

Very likely the same issue as bug 869413. Patch is there, so marking this one as duplicate.
