It is not clear the bug is related to Bug 856542 or not related. Confirmed that the hw video codec resource contention happened in following use case by the code that fixed Bug 856542. - Store 40 attachment 742194 [details] videos in SD card. - Start video playback during thumbnails are being generated by video app.

For confirmation, I used following ROM - ROM: custom ROM v1.0.1 for buri. gecko source(May/08) and apply attachment 744238 [details] [diff] [review] and attachment 744257 [details] [diff] [review].

When contention happens, video app shows just black screen and uncontrollable stage until the video app get killed.

I checked v1.0.1 and v1.1 on buri. - v.1.1 : No hw resource contention between thumbnail and video playback When try to play video, a first video frame is shown. But video frame are not updated since then. Only audio is heard. - v1.0.1 : Hw resource contention between thumbnail and video playback When try to play video, video app draws black. The video app is uncontrollable.

I noticed that Bug 856542 is leo+ not tef+.

comment #4 was not correct. ROM for v1.1 was not correct. Fallowing is correct. - v.1.1 : No hw resource contention between thumbnail and video playback No problem for playback during thumbnail creation. - v1.0.1 : Hw resource contention between thumbnail and video playback When try to play video, video app draws black. The video app is uncontrollable.
