User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0
Build ID: 20130430204233
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install FF 21
2. Install Nightly
3. Make Nightly as default browser
4. Remove Nightly
5. Make FF 21 as default browser
6. Click on url in Outlook window
Actual results:
Got error message "Class is not registred"
Expected results:
Link must be opened in FF window
When I make IE as default browser, links open in IE window. The same behavioyr is for Nightly.
As you can see, when I tried to make FF 21 as default browser, I can only select Nightly (without icon). So, as for me Nightly does not make correct uninstall

Same issue here. I thought my Thunderbird was having problem (not opening links) but turns out links work when I set IE as default browser.

Also experiencing this bug. Running a Surface Pro 2, Windows 8.1
-Installed the 28.01 Nightly as default browser.
-Reinstalled 27.01 release version over the 28.01 Nightly.
Attempting to click link to Firefox in Taskbar gives error message "Class not registered C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefox\firefox.exe"
Attempted troubleshooting steps:
- Re-reinstalled 27.01, no effect.
- Uninstalled Firefox, purposefully deleted user data. Reinstalled 27.01, no effect.
- Restored user profile from backup. It was suggested to try renaming the prefs.js file to force Firefox to regenerate the file. No effect.
- Used the control panel to verify that Firefox is default browser. Windows said it was, but I told it to set Firefox to be the default browser anyway. No effect.
- Opened Internet Explorer, set IE as default browser. Closed IE. Opened Firefox (which gave the class error when using the taskbar), re-set Firefox to be the default browser. No effect.
An interesting note: While just clicking the button on the taskbar gives the class error, right clicking and selecting "Open New Window" does not. For a fresh install of Firefox the extra commands are missing from the right click menu and so Firefox has to be started by using the Run dialog. After that the extra menu options are available and can be used to open Firefox.
