We need to support Phonebook Access feature via HFP (optional HFP 1.5 feature). If this bug impacts that feature, we need to fix in v1.2 (if not earlier).

I'm still working on phonebook commands to load ME/DC/MC/RC, I toook some time to work on phonebook but I found it's not very easy to do in v.1.1 architecture. Attach temporary workaround. Just fake it and reply empty ME/DC/MC/RC 0 records. At least we can get rid of power consumption problem here while car kit continually send CPBR/CPBS query commands. Maybe this is something we have to fix in v1.1. Can you give it a quick try for car kit mentioned in Bug 869468? Thanks.

Hi Shawn, Unfortunately, bug 869468 was not fixed by this temp patch. In my opinion, it seems that the temporary patch is limited because carkit need more command in next step. I think that the call display of car kit is needed to control the some command.(CLIP, CIEV, CLCC, CIND ...) But this seems to be not associated with bug 869468. Because All of command is sent to carkit in air log. Android phones are worked well and the difference is only PBAP profile. Actually in the air log, CPBS ERROR is returned always when command is received. I cannot find the modify point anymore, so I want to retest after PBAP is implemented in the future. bug 869468 is not a common bug, only PSA RD45 carkit and seem to be not efficient. If you agree with me , please make a comment about your analysis in bug 869468 and let's check again after PBAP is supported. Thanks.

Hi I've tried again my patch and tested "AT+CPBS=?" and i can see "+CPBS: ("ME","DC","RC","MC"). OK. I've checked your air log call_number_fail.cfa. It looks like testing is using my patch. Can you double confirm again? I hope i did not misunderstand you. call_number_fail.cfa capture based on my patch of bug 870882, right? > Actually in the air log, CPBS ERROR is returned always when command is > received.

I'm not sure any side effect can be found if we do a fake reply for phonebook commands. In general, it is ok for us to reply "empty" phonebook at least car kit won't ask continuously. If you have concern about this workaround, i suggest that let's defer it until PBAP profile introduced.

This won't be fixed until we have PBAP profile which is not in v1.3 scope currently.
