After bug 874526 lands on production, I should remove the projects/security/components page and associated assets from the legacy codebase.
No longer blocks: 874526
Depends on: 874526
Priority: -- → P3
Just a quick note to self. The projects/security/components directory has a variety of files in it -- presentations, PGP keys, and more -- but it appears these are all on www-archive, so it should be safe to remove them from the SVN codebase. Might want to double-check this.

I thought that the files would no longer be accessible from the web, but that we would still be able to access the files via SVN.

Did I misunderstand?
The files are available on the Web now, and will still be available after this work is done. The files are and will remain available at both the www.mozilla.org and www-archive.mozilla.org domains. For example...

* http://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/university2.ppt
* http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/university2.ppt

This change will remove the files from SVN, but their availability on the Web will not change. Would this work for you, or would something else be better?
Sorry, guess I'm confused.

As long as the content doesn't disappear, it's fine.
The content will not disappear. It will still be accessible from the Web just as it is now, but it will be removed from SVN. (In fact, the content will still be accessible from SVN, but in a slightly more roundabout way.)

Hope that makes sense. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.
OK. Thanks.
Another round of deletion.

These files already redirect to corresponding files on the www-archive subdomain, so these changes should not affect users in any way. Also worth noting that the components directory seems to be completely self-contained. I could not find any assets elsewhere on mozilla.org that can be removed along with it.

Yes, I believe that's correct.
