User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130511120803 Steps to reproduce: Recently installed Thunderbird 17, been using Firefox for a long time. Found User Interface issue, discussed with support forum, asked to pose here. Links to Forum discussions https://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging/topics/change_to_pop_up_window_for_windows_versions_to_resolve_confusion_between_firefox_and_thunderbird?utm_content=topic_link&utm_medium=email&utm_source=reply_notification https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/960438?esab=a&s=&r=0&as=s Actual results: Have master password enabled on both apps, and having great difficulty identifying which app is requesting the master password, as in Windows, (XP SP3), both apps are using the identical pop up, and if the apps are minimised, or a different app has the focus, it is not easy to work out which one needs the password. On Linux, it appears that the icon for the app is in the header bar of the pop up window, but the icon is not present in the header bar on windows. Expected results: Some means of identifying if it is Firefox or Thunderbird needs to be present in the pop up window when the Master Password is requested, to avoid confusion to users. Windows screen shot is attached, the Thunderbird shot is effectively the same.

HAve since discovered that the calling task ICON is present only in the task bar, which may not be visible depending on the user option set in XP
It's generally agreed among UX/Engineering/Product that we don't want to further develop the existing master password functionality, as it's a poor fit for current needs and our current direction in this area.
