STR 1. save the attached testcase + "white.webm" locally in the same directory 2. open the HTML file 3. hover the mouse over the menubar ACTUAL RESULTS (firefox:5194): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading icon: Failed to open file '/usr/share/icons/oxygen/16x16/actions/edit-paste.png': Too many open files etc. When quitting Firefox I get some errors during shutdown so I suspect there could be an associated dataloss as well.

I don't see evidence that this is a security bug or needs to remain hidden.

Can we open this? Is this still relevant?

I think we can open this. I have nebulous plans for shutting down idle decoders which may help here.

I no longer see the issue described in this bug. We have other issues associated with opening a large number of media elements, such as bug 1590686, which the test may tickle. However, since I'm not seeing the problems marked here I'm going to close this one.
