User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130511120803 Steps to reproduce: I open a new box to compose a letter, start writing with the fonts previously fixed but they constatly change! Either to smaller, or to huge ones, or to another font type. So, I have to fix fonts again and again... :-( The worst version is when it looks normally during writing but after sending the mail looks totally different!! The format often changes, too. What's wrong? I've been using Thbird for ages but this is a new feature. I have upgraded to a higher version but the bug is still there! :-(( I have also consulted an IT specialist but he has no idea what could be done... Please help! Silvia

Hi Silvia, myself being a volunteer contributor, just a short note to appreciate your problem. I'm sorry that you're having a hard time with fonts in composition. We have a number of bugs on record which report unexpected behaviour around composition fonts (but they are not easy to understand or fix, and might lose out against other bugs taking priority). (In reply to s.geoseva from comment #0) > Steps to reproduce: > > I open a new box to compose a letter, start writing with the fonts > previously fixed but they constatly change! Either to smaller, or to huge > ones, or to another font type. > So, I have to fix fonts again and again... :-( It would be helpful if you could provide more detail so that we can try to reproduce your problem. Every mouseclick or keypress matters. If problems occur for replies to existing messages, we also need an edited copy of the original message that you're starting from. So we need this: - if reply case, select original message in message list, File > save as > File to save it as original.eml on your hdd. - open original.eml with text editor, remove private data your email address etc., save - using "add an attachment" above, add original.eml file here as a testcase - write an exact description of what you did before problem occurs, like this: 1. Reply to original.eml 2. type "foo" followed by 3x Enter, then "bar" 3. place cursor in quote after word "bas", press Enter 4. Type "bla" 5. Backspace to erase "la" from "bla" - with an eye on bug 812638, what are your settings in Tools > Options > Composition > General > Font? Or any other settings that you've customized to suit your needs? That's the degree of detail we need to reproduce your bug. Otherwise there's little hope to even understand the problem. > The worst version is when it looks normally during writing but after sending > the mail looks totally different!! The format often changes, too. That type of problem is also known, with bugs filed, and I'm trying to increase our understanding and awareness of it and ultimately getting it fixed. Can you provide some more detail of the format changes that make what is sent look "totally different" from what you composed?

Or better still, can you provide a privacy-cleared testcase.eml draft message that exposes those unexpected changes when sending?

Thomas, the reporter is gone afaict and I think we still lack a full description of this issue, so => incomplete
