Details

STR:
1. Visit pages, verify pages are in about:home > History (Visited or Recent)
2. Go to Settings > Privacy > Clear private data and clear browsing history
3. Go to about:home > History

Expected:
History and Visited shows nothing

Actual:
Sites visited are still present in history. Even on a kill and restart, the about:home history page is not updated to reflect cleared history.
Are you still experiencing this? I just browsed to a few sites, then cleared private data, and my history was gone (I didn't even need to reload about:home to see this). Are you perhaps confused that bookmarks aren't deleted?
This looks like a bug introduced in bug 895837. I just rebuilt w/ the backout and it seems to be okay.

Ah, this was happening because I had "Don't keep activities" enabled in dev options. This is unrelated to bug 895837, and has been in fig since at least 7/23.
