Details
(Whiteboard: [OSX])
Build: 2001071013
Platform: Mac OS X
Expected Results: QT movie (QT TV channels) should be rendered.
What I got: The movie is displayed as a black rectangle.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/
2) Movie will positioned under QT Channels section
3) Instead, the movie is rendered as a black rectangle.
4) The problem maybe the way the server is sending the file. If you attempt to
open the QT movie in the browser,
(http://a768.g.akamai.net/7/768/51/f98b2b91d5f3a9/www.apple.com/quicktime/media/QTChannels_frontpage.mov)
You should get giberish text in the window.

No, this is different, I saw this on Petersen's machine. Classic is fine. In OS
X, however, just the opening video shows all black. I just happen to have a copy
of this saved as a testcase on my workstation's web server and that copy loaded
fine. It was just the one from the Apple server having problems. In fact, we
loaded both movies in full-page mode. The one from my server loaded while the
one from their server came out in plain/text. My guess is that it's a mime-type
problem. I went to get OT Session Watcher and I couldn't find it. I'll try to
find another way to verify the mime-type the server is handing back without
first breaking into the debugger in OS X.

Platform: PowerBook G3/300/192Mb/25Gb, MacOS X 10.0.4
Fizzilla Build: 2001071305
Is this still a problem? In my build this is working. Clicking on one of the
channels properly launches the QuickTime Player. The titlebar redraw problem is
bug 90769.

At the moment, I'm not able to reproduce this problem. I saw this issue on three
different machines running Mac OS X and (2001071305) builds. I did deleted
Mozilla registery , Mozilla directory and all profiles. Not sure if this is
related to solving this problem or not.

This problem appears randomly for me. Able to reproduce in the July 25th branch
build. Tested under Mac OS X 10.0.4.

I think this is fixed with my plugin resource checkin from last night. Marking
FIXED for now...please reopen if not.
Also, since this used to be kind of random and hard to reproduce, could you be
VERY explicit on the steps to reproduce. Thanks!

Okay, marking depends on bug 98729 for now. This is hard to reproduce. :( A
simplified testcase and/or steps needs to reproduce would helpful.

I talked with Petersen and we agree that this bug happens after Quicktime gets
in an unstable state after a crash. The best way to fix this is not to crash in
the first place. The workaround if you do crash and experience this bug is to
reboot and possibly clean our your mozilla registry.

I have yet been able to reproduce this issue in the latest branch build. I
believe this was cause by crashing using the QT plug-in which has been resolved.
Marking WFM with the Oct 1 Mac OS X branch build.
