Please make the name of this app available in local languages(Portuguese, Spanish, German, Polish, Greek, Czech, Hungarian, and Serbian). This has been requested by the Carrier. This is requested on an urgent basis for V1.1
Hey Karen, we have native speakers for Portuguese, Spanish, German, Polish, Greek and Hungarian so we'll get these done asap. But not for Czech and Serbian. What are our options?
Karen — Either Brian King<bking@mozilla.com> or Tamara Dzuver (Telenor) <Tamara.Dzuver@telenor.me> may be able to help here.
Any update on this issue?

Elisa - please reach out to the contacts Dees lists in comment#2 and see if they can provide translation of NOTES given the context of the Notes application within Marketplace.
I e-mailed Brian King and Tamara Dzuver today. Waiting for response.
The following languages have translations for the app name AND content within app: Spanish, Portuguese, Polish The following languages have translations for the app name, but not the content within the app: Hungarian, Greek, German The following languages do not have translations for the app name nor the content within the app: Serbian, Croatian, Italian
E-mail from Brian King: Hi Elisa, I'm not sure I can help here. I could ask our launch teams to help, however it may be better for the translators working on Firefox OS to do this. Adding l10n who might have a better feel for this. - Brian Axel, could you help point us in the right direction for getting Serbian, Croatian, and Italian translations for the Notes app title?
Flags: needinfo?(l10n)
Is that app localized into those languages? In that case it'd be important that the localized name of the app is consistent within the app. If it's not, there's going to be a break in user expectations on the localization of that app. That happens either at the homescreen, or when opening the app. If it was at opening the app, users actually using the app regardless had consistently inconsistent user experience between the app name within the app and on the homescreen.

In Italian "Note" would be fine, but Axel is absolutely right. And I think there are a lot of marketing screenshots out there with "Notes" icon in it :-\ https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=933346#c20
I'll follow up with Karen about this since she filed the bug.
I filed additional bugs to have each language translated. Closing this bug.

(In reply to Elisa Helton from comment #11) > I filed additional bugs to have each language translated. Closing this bug. Where? Because I haven't received any notification for my locale.
Francesco-- you can view the bugs I filed in the Notes Tracking bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=869212 Here's the list: 943099 [Notes] Add Hungarian Translation to Notes App P2 NEW 943101 [Notes] Add Greek Translation to Notes App P2 NEW 943102 [Notes] Add German Translation to Notes App P2 NEW 943105 [Notes] Add Serbian Translation to Notes App P2 NEW 943106 [Notes] Add Croatian Translation to Notes App P2 NEW 943107 [Notes] Add Italian Translation to Notes App P2 NEW
To clarify, I would expect that the vendor of the notes app is providing those, and that the mozilla community localizers aren't on the hook for our "preinstalled apps" set.
