From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:0.9.1) Gecko/20010607 BuildID: 2001060703 The drop down list boxes do not work on this web page. They work fine with NS 4.76. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Surf to URL and see for yourself. 2. 3.
Access Denied We are unable to grant you access to this store. I can't access that page because of the error above. Can you 1) try this with a newer build of Mozilla? And 2) if this still doesn't work with the newer build, please attach the source to this report.
Dell's comboboxes are screwed up in mozilla because their xhtml is bogus -- they use <option/>[value] rather than <option>[value]</option>. Although I can't view the url you posted, I'm assuming this is the problem, as it's known to be rampant in dell's online order pages. For further discussion, read bug 84633. And please reopen if I'm wrong! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 84633 ***

contact info: webmaster@dell.com I have looked around Dell's site and have not found any examples of the empty Option tag problem. Can some one post a valid url that exhibits the problem? Thanks, --bc

Hi, Not fixed in 0.9.2. See http://www.dell.com/us/en/biz/topics/segtopic_opti_gx50_opti_kat.htm and then pick one of the PC systems. The next page will show a configuration with drop downs that don't work. Regards, Dan
Dan, Thanks! That page couldn't be clearer as to the problem. I will contact them tomorrow and we will see what happens. Thanks again, --bc

As of 8/3/2001, with release 0.9.3, it's still not possible to use the Dell web site with Mozilla. If the "quirks" mode is supposed to emulate NS4 behavior, doesn't this represent a mozilla bug, even if the Dell web site is using badly formed html?
All Evangelism Bugs are now in the Product Tech Evangelism. See bug 86997 for details.

follow up with these sites by 0.9.5
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla0.9.5
They seem to have written new code, which works, but they have only implimented this in "Home & Home Office" section of the site, while buisness and government sections still use the old code. Hopefully they are moving this entire site to the new code, CCing myself and will check back in a few weeks.
-> 0.9.6, need to follow up on these asap
Target Milestone: mozilla0.9.5 → mozilla0.9.6
this seems to be fixed. said url does gives a 404, but the buisness site dropdowns work... could you please recheck the site?
I checked several optiplex and dimension models and it appears they have fixed their xml empty tag syntax problems. Since their site is generated via asp scripts, etc hopefully all have been fixed, but in case they have not, please reopen this bug and include as many urls where they use the broken xml empty tag syntax as possible. thanks everyone!
