task menu window list should strip the " - Mozilla {Build ID..." part of the
title, as this is useless and making the tasks menu much wider then it has to
be, which is quite ugly.
NS4 striped the "Netscape: "

reopening, 80735 is for window title changes, this is a seperate 4xp issue, with
no debate on the accessibility of the BuildID or advertising relevant.

I disagree - I use KDE's kstart command to automatically move the Mozilla window
to the second desktop. I just installed 0.9.6 and this no longer works. I
would like to see the '- Mozilla' reinstated, perhaps without the Build ID.
Otherwise kstart has nothing to tell it which window is the Mozilla window and
it could move the wrong window to the second desktop just because some other
window was late in appearing. If this is sufficiently controversial, perhaps a
Preferences item is in order.

1) You're supposed to match on window class, not title.
2) This is for the tasks menu only. See also 80735.

Is this really that difficult? It makes the tasks menu extremely ugly.

No Jeremy, it shouldn't be hard. Take a look at the source and see if you can
create a patch.

I think this bug is invalid on two different levels. The Window menu shouldn't
need to alter the window titles at all. Firstly, `- Mozilla' (and the build ID)
shouldn't be in the title bar in the first place. You could argue that it's
tradition to have it on Windows (or it was, until the release of Windows
Explorer, the QuickTime Player, MSN Explorer, etc), but secondly, the `Window'
menu shouldn't exist on Windows anyway, since Windows already has a taskbar.

Seamonkey displays " - Seamonkey" after EVERY browser entry in the Window menu. This is unnecessary, redundant information which wastes space and makes the menu harder to read (I have a lot of open windows). I don't mind it in the window title, but that shouldn't mean it has to appear in the internal menu.
