STR:
1. Load http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/performance/pirates/
2. Run Benchmark
RESULT:
On my MBP, the PirateMarrrk benchmark is super janky on both Chrome and Firefox, but Firefox takes 9x longer to complete:
* Chrome 29: 171.53 seconds
* Firefox 27: 1547.53 seconds

FWIW, Internet Explorer 10 completes the benchmark approx 10x faster than Chrome.
-> In Chrome and Firefox, slowness seems to be correlated with the rendering of flames (enemy boats kind of burn after they've been shot).
Average CPU usage on different browsers on a i7-4771 machine (4 cores, 8 threads):
At idle: 1%
Nightly 0928build: 16% (1 core at near 100%, others at near idle)
Chrome 29.0.1547.76m: 66% (7 cores at 60%, 1 at 80%)
IE 10.0.9200.16688: 5% (1 core at 10%, others at idle)
GPU-wise, only IE sees a constant use of GPU at around 5% on a Nvidia GTX760.
In addition, only Nightly experiences an extremely sluggish UI during the benchmark.

FWIW on Windows 7 with HWA Trunk is on par with MSIE 11 (~ 7,3s) and Chrome is 37s.
With an Electrolysis Build I get 20-40% CPU and 10-20% GPU time on the Content Process.

It's much faster indeed. Still a little bit choppy/janky after the the first flames appear, but great improvement nonetheless ! (Firefox : 19s vs IE11 : 16s)
