I am separating this issue from Bug 914523 so that we can keep it as an active blocker against the VC12 meta-bug.

Same issue in js/src/dtoa.c and nsprpub/pr/src/misc/prdtoa.c
Can work around by disabling optimization for the function |diff|. The MS Connect bug also suggests some less-perf-intrusive code workarounds, but I haven't verified whether they are correct or effective.
The Connect bug says this will be fixed for VS2013RTM.
