I think we can wait for next edition ( maybe 0.31.1 ), which also contains a SSSE3 implementation.
The SSSE3 implementation appears to be in 0.31.2 [0]. The current release is now 0.32.4. [0] http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-announce/2013-November/002351.html
